i'm Valerie.
i am 21 years old.
i am a photographer and a missionary.
i have a thing for bright colors, ukuleles, kangaroos, and cameras.
i love adventures, meeting new people, and seeing new places.
i loveloveLOVE the exciting feeling when the airplane takes off.
i left my half of my heart in Greece, and the other half in Uganda.
i am proud to say that i was part of YWAM's PhotogenX 2012 DTS (best 6 months ever).
when i spent the 3 months of my DTS Outreach in Greece during the summer of 2012, i realized that something inside of me comes alive when i am serving people and loving on them in the name of Jesus. it truly is my JOY to lay my life down in service to the One who saved, redeemed, and brought me back to life. as a YWAM leader once told me, "Jesus didn't come to make bad people good, He came to make dead people come alive". i want to tell others what Jesus has done for me, and show them how Jesus can bring them to life.
my dream is to travel the world and use photography as a tool for missions work and relationship building. i want to be the voice for those who have none. i want to bring back photos of people around the world and influence more people to be involved in missions. i feel a calling to use the talents that God has given me to honor Him and bring Him glory. someday, i hope to use my camera solely in missions. i have dreams of traveling to South Africa, England, France, (back to) Greece, (back to) Uganda, Peru, India, Thailand, Haiti, Jamaica, and many more...but until God calls me to those places, you'll find me taking pictures of beautiful people and serving the Lord in Maryland, USA. :)
